WASHINGTON - The and the Treasury announced steps Sunday to shore up mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, whose shares have plunged as losses from their mortgage holdings threatened their financial survival.
Those who do have homes paid for will be able to keep theirs, but most likely not forever. Once the government gets a taste of blood it will inevitably come for more. It will find a way to take those paid for as well.
Win this one, people. If you're willing to allow the government to take your home, your shelter, your comfort and peace, you've opened the door to anything that evil imaginations can concoct.
